Every plate at breakfast comes from Studio Ferro, forty metres up Vico dei Pescatori. We asked Sara Ferro how she glazes them.
Forty metres up the lane
Sara Ferro opened her studio in 2014 in what used to be a net store. She makes every plate, bowl and cup we use at breakfast, in a glaze she mixes from the local clay and ash from our own fireplace.
You can visit on weekday mornings. She sells seconds at half price and ships anywhere.
How to spot a Ferro plate
Turn it over: every piece has a small wave pressed into the foot.
