The harbour at six
What you see from the Harbour Room if you are up before the boats: a short guide to the morning, and who is who on the quay.
Before the town wakes
At six the harbour belongs to the fishermen. The first boats go out as the light turns grey-blue, and the café on the quay opens its shutters for them, not for us.
If you are awake, open your shutters and watch. Tullio is the one in the green gozzo; his brother Piero has the blue one with the red stripe.
Where to have your first coffee
Bar Nino, on the corner of the quay, serves the fishermen at six and everyone else from seven. Ask for a caffè in vetro and stand at the counter.
